Beavers down Rebels in opener

CALCUTTA — Beaver Local opened the golf season with a 170-173 victory over Crestview on Thursday at Beaver Meadows.

For the Beavers, Owen Hill had a 41, Britton Hickman 41, Cole Jarvis 44 and Andre Wiegand 44.

For Crestview, Luke Requardt had a 38, Rod McCune 41, Noah Wine 46 and Tristan Milhoan 48 and Peyton Conkle 48.

Crestview hosts Liberty today.

Columbiana 199, Lowellville 261

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s girls golf team scored a 199-261 win over Lowellville on Thursday at Valley.

For the Clippers (1-0), Maddie Jackson had a 47, Sophia Perry 48, Mackenzie Day 50 and Victoria Buckingham 54.

Gianna Clement led Lowellville with a 58.

Columbiana is at the River Invitational today at Old Avalon.
